ResonaTale ("we", "us", "our") operates the website resonatale.com and related services. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Data: Email address and encrypted password when you create an account.

Voice Recordings: Audio recordings you submit for voice cloning. These are processed by ElevenLabs to create a voice model unique to you.

Film Data: Story prompts, mood selections, language preferences, and generated films.

Payment Data: Processed securely by Stripe. We never store your credit card numbers.

Usage Data: Basic analytics including pages visited, features used, and device type.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and deliver AI-generated films
To clone your voice for film narration
To process payments and manage credits
To improve our service
To communicate important updates

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to deliver our product:

OpenAI — Script writing and image generation
Runway — AI video generation
ElevenLabs — Voice cloning and text-to-speech
Shotstack — Video assembly and rendering
Stripe — Payment processing
Cloudflare — Hosting, storage, and security

Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

4. Voice Data

Your voice recording is used solely to create a cloned voice model for narrating your films. We do not sell, share, or use your voice for any other purpose. Voice models are tied to your account and are not accessible by other users.

You may re-record your voice at any time from your profile. You may request deletion of your voice data at any time by contacting us.

5. AI-Generated Content

Films created through ResonaTale are generated by AI. You own the rights to films you create and pay for. We retain a license to store and deliver your content through our platform.

6. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global network using encrypted databases (D1) and object storage (R2). Films are stored until you delete them or close your account.

7. Data Retention

Account data: retained until you delete your account
Voice models: retained until you delete or re-record
Films: retained for 1 year after creation
Payment records: retained as required by law

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Delete your account and all associated data
Delete your voice recordings
Export your films
Opt out of non-essential communications

9. Children

ResonaTale is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Security

We use industry-standard encryption, secure authentication (JWT), and Cloudflare's security infrastructure to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

11. European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

Legal Basis: We process your data based on consent (voice recording) and contractual necessity (account, films, payments)
Right to Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Right to Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for voice processing at any time
Right to Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to Complain: Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Data transfers outside the EEA are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission.

12. International Users

ResonaTale is available worldwide. If you are located outside the United States:

California (CCPA): You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. We do not sell personal data.
Canada (PIPEDA): We collect and use data with your knowledge and consent
Australia: We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles
Brazil (LGPD): You have rights to access, correct, and delete your data

By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries where our service providers operate, with appropriate safeguards in place.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of ResonaTale after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
